Eretz Halav u'Dvash

I dashed off this short piece for the Voice website last night about Ariel Sharon's life and legacy. In the summer of 2003, I packed up and went to Israel to see what was going on, and published this story, about the unseen plague of poverty in the country, and this story, about Palestinian juveniles in Israeli military prisons. I grew up loving this country and now it seems too painful to even follow what's happening.
