I saw you on Washington Journal this morning. You were wonderful, articulate and informative. Even though I didn't graduate with debt when I graduated a year and a half ago, I'm going to pick up your book. I do feel that the fiscal and social policies in the US today are misguided and not geered toward the success of the country as a whole.
I also saw you on Washington Journal this morning and was moved by you and the information you presented about "Generation Dept" and the high cost of college. I have a son that goes to Texas Tech and is a Pre Med Student. Due to his dedication to his studies I have "happily" assumed his expenses for college. I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that my son would be required to assume the outrageous expenses of going to school. As a single parent these expenses are not easy for me and do cause hardship in the parents life as well.
My new book, DIY U:Edupunks, Edupreneurs and the Coming Transformation of Higher Education (buy it here), will be published by Chelsea Green in April 2010. I'm a staff writer for Fast Company Magazine and the author of the book Generation Debt. I've written Generation Debt columns for the Village Voice and as a featured Yahoo! Finance expert. I've also written for publications ranging from the New York Times to ReadyMade magazine and Mental Floss.
I live in Brooklyn with a phenomenal husband and an amazing cat.
