More from the Youth Rights Movement

From Alex Koroknay-Palicz :
I heartily agree. I just want to make contact and introduce myself/my group. I run the National Youth Rights Association, a largely youth-led group that campaigns for lowering the voting age, lowering the drinking age and many other adult rights that are currently denied to young people. We're small but growing. We've had some great press coverage and a few good local campaigns.

The recommendations you made in your piece sound a lot like Robert Epstein's. Have you read his book, The Case Against Adolescence? NYRA is big fans of both Epstein and Mike Males (who you might also know). I, and our members, are all very glad to have your support.

Thanks again for writing that great op-ed. Check out the NYRA page here: http://www.youthrights.org

I don't really get the purpose of all of this. Why would you want young, uneducated idiots voting? Have you ever heard of, "tryanny of the masses?" I am a teacher, and believe me, you do not want those idiots voting on what kind of world we will have. Also, it is not the 1960's, and nothing is going to change. In fact, this is the downslide for America. Do you really think that America, in its cultural death spiral, is going to become more Socialist, come on! I think it's cute that you want to change the world, but you would be better off moving to Canada, or Scandinavia. You are still young enough to go for it. Trying to change America will just wear you down believe me. It was just a rare occurence in history during the 1950s to the 1980s, and it cannot go back to that way in the era of globalisation. It will only get much worse.

Mr. Anonymous, let me ask you, have you heard of tyranny of the masses? Because what is going on right now is exactly that. No difference from sexism and racism from days past. I think it's cute that you don't think people can change the world. And trust me, we're not idiots we just act like it to annoy asshole teachers like you.
